Østnes as the first photographer has been granted free access to the country’s perhaps most important building. The Storting is the Norwegian Parliament. It is the supreme arena for political debate and decision-making in the Kingdom of Norway. The Storting represents the ultimate expression of the sovereignty of the Norwegian people.
«There is something about preserving the building’s history, and it was important for me to treat the Parliament with respect, while also maintaining the artistic aspect. It is a huge challenge to photograph a building as extensively photographed as the Parliament», says Østnes.
